Iran in Syria
All living human beings will find comfort in the arms of their friends during any moment of difficulty. For the whole period that the war has gone on in Syria, Iran has shown steadiness and commitment in provision of support to the Syrian government. Iran in Syria has been of great importance and value to Syria. In as much as the two countries may not have many common interests in pursuance, it should be noted that Iran in Syria is purely a partnership between two governments that are seeking to ensure stability in the affected country. Additionally there has been security and intelligence support from Iran. It is clear that they do offer military weapons and other primary military necessities to the Syrians too. The Syrians have been able to receive financial aid from the Iranians. These provision of relevant security and military support has led to the improvement of chances by the Syrian government to come out stronger in this war. Iran has volunteered in allowing its own military to go out of its borders to ensure calm and peace among countries that have been affected by war. Iran has also advanced training of its soldiers out of its borders. The moves by iran have ensured that the Syrian head of state remains in power. This move has been noted as a move of honor that aims at maintain the rights of the people of Syria. Such support has resulted in the advancement of the Iranian economic, social and political agenda.
Foreigners hardly have the courage to support a local regime. Pro-government militias in Syria have received extensive support from Iran. These groups of militias have welcomed the idea of Iran being Syria’s ally. This kind of support has allowed Iran to operate with lots of ease within Syrian borders. It has led to Iran fighting various factions in Syria. Suppressing such factions is actually aimed at ensuring Syria regains its stability as soon as possible. This is not dependent on the person that takes over the government.
Iran is aiming at building a corridor from Iran to Lebanon. This land corridor is intended to come through Iraq and Syria. The Mediterranean will be linked by this corridor. This corridor will facilitate the movement of Iranian and Iranian-backed soldiers as well as necessary weapons. This will actually help in the realization of the growth of both Syria’s ally, Iran, and Syria itself.
